The British Isles are home to a spectacular range of birds that live in the multitude of landscapes and coastal areas within the UK and surrounding coastal waters. Coastal seabirds breed in the lowland heaths, rugged coats and estuaries of the UK. There are 25 types of seabirds in these areas. Seabirds, also known as Marine birds have adapted to a life at sea. Sea-birds tend to live longer, breed late and have fewer young than other birds. Many nest in colonies and famously undertake annual long migrations. We humans have a long history with Seabirds. We have hunted for food and have used them as guides for for fisherman and sailors looking for land.

Many species are endangered through human activity and conservation efforts are under way.

Each Seabird sculpture is unique and so please expect slight variations in the grain of the woods used and the shape of the base.
